Chapter 1
She woke with a start, sweat trickling down her soft, sun-kissed face. Slowly she breathed the salty air of her neighbour, waves splashing wildly against the jagged rocks below. Her vision was blurred as she peered through the mysterious fog suddenly forming around her queen-sized bed. Not again, she thought in annoyance. She sat up against the posh pink pillows which gave her head comfort mere moments before. When will they leave her alone, she thought in frustration. Suddenly, the fog glowed brightly around her forcing her to shield her sleek violet eyes from the now overbearing light.
She was used to this by now. Every time that they came, the same question was asked and the same answer was given but today she was about to learn, will be completely different.
Suddenly a small portal appeared , swirling with all the beautiful colours of the rainbow. As they say, curiosity killed the cat but in Ariayne’s case, it sparked a new beginning. “When will you come with us?” an unknown voice spoke from the newly formed portal. She tapped a finger against her now curious face contemplating, “Never!” she laughed at the portal which was now growing by the minute. As realization dawned on her, she quickly scrambled for her duffel bag before being sucked into the portal a second later. This is going to be a long journey.
